An Updated Message From Our Superintendent
Dear Fort Sam Houston School Community,
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we respond to the threat of violence at an unidentified elementary school in San Antonio on April 24. Because the FBI and local law enforcement agencies believe the threat is not credible, they indicate it is safe to send your children to school.
However, our district takes the situation seriously and will remain on high alert. Both Fort Sam Houston Elementary School and Robert G. Cole Middle and High School will be open April 24 and will limit visitor access to our schools. The 502d Security Forces Squadron will continue to have a law enforcement presence at our schools.
We encourage the public to call the SAPD tip line at 225-TIPS (8477) if they have any information on this threat, even if you think it may be insignificant.
Dr. Gail Siller

In a smartphone world, we all have good snapshots, but without the right camera, the right lens, and the right angle, it's hard to get a great photograph. In an effort to share great photographs and support their program, the Cole journalism students launched a new photo website featuring photos of Cougar athletics, campus events, and digital artwork. Whether you want a 4x6 to stick on the fridge, a 16 x 20 to frame on the wall, or a canvas gallery wrap to feature unique artwork, you can select your image and have the perfect print mailed directly to your home! All items are competitively priced and every sale supports the Cole journalism program helping fund gallery exhibits, photographic equipment, and sending students to conferences and competitions. Visit their photo page at www.colehs.smugmug.com and use the password COUGARS (all caps) to see these amazing images. We are starting a new school year and we are ready and excited to have your children join us. The Cole Middle/High faculty has been busy training during the summer and most recently setting up their rooms for the new year. I know that you have been busy shopping and preparing your child for the new year.
You child will be bringing home a packet of papers to share with you. Some will need to be read and signed so that they can be returned, others are for information only. I know all this paperwork can be daunting at times, but please take the time to complete the necessary forms and return them to school tomorrow. It is important that we collect information and report that information as soon as possible. Thank you for helping us with this important step in the beginning of the new year.
