FSHISD Recognized by Google!

Recently, Google launched a new program designed to identify and acknowledge educational organizations across the country who demonstrate vision and thought leadership through their adoption of Google for Education technology and who are excited to share their experiences, learnings, and best practices with others. The new program is called the Google for Education Reference District Program and FSHISD is one of the first districts in the country to be recognized.

In an email to the district Google stated, “Based on your district’s strong use of G Suite for Education tools and deep adoption of Google Chromebooks, you are one of the “Googliest” districts in the US.”

This special honor truly recognizes the efforts of everyone in the district -- especially our instructional staff who engage our students in their learning, our students who create incredible projects and submit outstanding work, as well as members of our outstanding Board of Trustees and Leadership Team.

The Cole PTO is excited to announce that their first-ever Fiesta medals are in! The design is by Cole 8th grade student, Autumn Creason, and it's beautiful!

No Charging in Cafeterias Starting in May

In order for our food services department to reconcile negative balances, students will no longer be allowed to charge meals beginning May 1st , 2017. Currently our charging policy allows a grace period of up to five days of meals if their accounts are negative and an alternate snack is offered temporarily once the grace period has expired and the account still has not been funded. Please be certain student cafeteria accounts are sufficiently funded in order for them to receive a meal.

On Saturday, April 29, 2017 the National Honor Society is wrapping up its IDMM drive (Item Drive for Military Members) with a Pack Out Party. Cole Middle School Student Headed to National Equestrian Contest!

Congratulations to Cole middle school student, Khi’Arie Brown, who won 1st place at the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Zone 7 Finals. The contest was held March 18 and 19th at the Diamond T Arena in Denton TX. Khi'Arie competed in “Hunt Seat Future Beginner on the Flat” category. Her place qualified her for Nationals to be held April 21-23 at the Virginia Horse Centerin Lexington, VA. Way to go, Khi’Arie! We’re so happy for you!
